    The Fourth La Romana-Bayahibe Golf Tournament Concludes Successfully

    The fourth edition of the La Romana-Bayahibe Golf Tournament 2015, which ended last weekend, was a resounding success. A record of more than 75 players competed under the Best Ball per Couple format.

    The fourth edition of the sporting and social event took place at the Links golf field of Casa de Campo. There, the participants were able to appreciate the elements that characterize the La Romana destination as one of the favorites for golf fans.

    The event ended with the awards ceremony in which César Rodríguez Fortuna and Marcel Olivares, who won the Best Overall Gross Score, received their trophies and a weekend stay at the Dreams La Romana hotel.

    In the Net category, Christian Rodríguez and Wilson Feliz Rodríguez won first place. They received trophies and a Tarapaca wine bottle holder.

    The teams made of Francisco Suárez and Juan José Contreras, and Carlos Madrino and Mary Ledesma, won the second and third place, respectively, in the Net category. Both couples received trophies and Tarapaca wine bottle holders.

    The event was organized by the Association of Hotels of La Romana-Bayahibe (AHRB) and the Tourism Cluster of La Romana-Bayahibe (CTRB), with the objective of promoting and strengthening the image of the tourist resort as the best golf destination in the Caribbean.

    Daniel Hernández, President of the AHRB, thanked the golf players for their enthusiastic participation and the sponsors for their support, and announced that a portion of the funds that were collected would go to the UMA Project of the Heart to Heart Foundation.

    “On behalf of the organizing committee of the Golf Tournament, I wish to sincerely thank the members, partners, sponsors and supporters who joined the initiative, and who are hereby invited to be part of the next edition of the event next year,” said Hernández.

    Among the prizes that were raffled amid the participants there were non-stop tickets with Air Europe, to Puerto Rico with América Cruise Ferries, and tours to the Saona Island with Caribbean Saona.

    In addition, weekend stays at the Be Live Collection Canoa, Casa de Campo, Dreams La Romana, Iberostar Hacienda Dominicus, Iberostar Punta Cana and Iberostar Costa Dorada.

    Likewise, weekend stays at the Viva Wyndham Resorts; the Trump Nacional Doral in Miami; roundtrip tickets to any destination where Jet Blue flies; coupons for the Sportline store worth RD$3,000.00; weekend stays at the Bayahibe Cadaques; day passes at the Catolonia Gran Dominicus Hotel; and USD$100 consumption coupons at the Pearl Beach Club of the Catalonia Hotels in Bavaro.

    The tournament was dedicated to Magaly Toribio for her outstanding commitment, from the Ministry of Tourism of the Dominican Republic, to positioning La Romana as a golf destination at the global level. She received a recognition from Mr. Daniel Hernández and Ms. Ana García-Sotoca, President and Executive Director of the AHRB, respectively.

    The event was sponsored by the Ministry of Tourism of the Dominican Republic, the Bayahibe Power Company (CEB), the National Competitiveness Council (CNC), the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), Jet Blue Challenge, Colana Sport Group, Central Romana Corporation, Seaborne Airlines, El Artístico, Banco Popular Dominicano, CardNet, Ron Atlántico, Aireuropa, Runners Adventures, Caribbean Turf and Club Car.
